Peele's protagonist is black photographer, Chris Washington, who agrees to visit his white girlfriend Rose's family (the Armitages) in an upstate suburb. Unlike Tarantino, Peele operates in the much more lucrative horror genre, his film grossing $184 million worldwide against a mere $4.5 million budget. Get Out is the directorial debut of comedy writer Jordan Peele who has taken a page out of the Quentin Tarantino wish fulfillment fantasy playbook. The picture and the actors starring will not save the movie every time. Screenplay is slightly better than most Filipino movies because of some originality there, but most of the screenplay are recycled lines (like the story). Yes, it was long, but, no, the ideas are not original. ugh! The story itself was kind of an extension of ideas. And we all hate that slow frame rate and slow motion combination. The slow motion were also shot inconsistenty some shots were crisp with like 1000FPS and some were 15FPS and both frame rates were made into slow motion.
An example is when Cali and Gio were under the trees in Nami Island, Cali's shot were in a crisp slow motion. Throughout the movie, it felt like some pieces were missing and that they just jump scenes. Some (of the most) important parts were cut. My Ex and Whys make much more sense with the deleted and extended scenes. I watched the movie on the home video release.
